WHY ARE WE GATHERING?

On May 2nd inside the DoubleTree Hotel, Dr. E. Fuller Torrey, the key spokesman for efforts to expand involuntary treatment laws across the United States will be part of an award ceremony. Dr. Torrey recently called for shutting down the federal Center for Mental Health Services because it supports consumer-operated services that promote recovery. (Washington Monthly April 2002)

Maryland consumers and advocates recently defeated a bill to expand commitment power (H.B. 923/S.B. 645). But the struggle continues across the country! Join us to protest Dr. Torrey's agenda of force and coercion. Your support is needed now, more than ever! The future of consumer rights is on the line!

Join the Heroic Battle for Civil Rights!
